I am trying to zip a 10Gb .mdf file + a 500mB .ldf file but cannot prevent receiving an error 506 before zipping is complete. Selecting the highest level of compression delays the onset of the message but does not prevent it. There is no shortage of disk space for the temporary file. If the 10Gb file happens to be empty (i.e. mostly zeros presumably) the zipping is OK - but not if the database is full. Any help as to how to fix this would be appreciated.
